The BLOEM 80 reimagines the classic cone pendant through the softness and structure of knitted wool. Designed for expansive dining situations that call for a focal point, the Bloem 80 fills a space with volume and light without blocking the view across the table. Its open, flared structure creates a generous silhouette that feels both dramatic and airy. Named after the Dutch word for “flower,” BLOEM draws on floral forms to create an open, flowing silhouette — defined by curvature, lightness, and spatial openness. Shaped through an ongoing process of making, testing, and learning directly from the behaviour of wool, BLOEM explores how knitted structure can form at scale. The Bloem becomes a dramatic centrepiece, anchoring large dining spaces while maintaining a soft, airy presence. Designed specifically for life around the table, its open form preserves sightlines, allowing conversation to happen. It casts a warm, even glow without blocking — a social light that supports connection, rather than interrupting it. BLOEM continues an exploration of New Zealand strong wool as a high-performance lighting material, using its natural properties to diffuse light and soften acoustics.
