Formation Lights is a New Zealand design studio creating bespoke, sustainably crafted lighting inspired by the natural world.
Founded by industrial designer Ryan while studying in Dunedin, the brand grew from an early prototype of the Tussock Light Shade into a recognised name in locally made design.
Now based in Cambridge, Formation Lights designs and handcrafts each piece using eco-friendly materials such as bamboo and sustainable plywood. Their work celebrates organic form, texture and light — bringing warmth, pattern and a strong sense of nature into both residential and commercial spaces.
